Althea Wynne one of the very few British sculptors producing
large ceramic figures by the coiling technique. Much less costly than bronze, and far less attractive to thieves, fired clay sculpture is in any case more in harmony with the nature of the garden. Each piece of Althea's work is unique; it is as intimate a creation of the artist's own hands as a thrown pot.
